In recent years, as applications of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) have become increasingly mature, AR&VR is no longer a technology that can only be seen in movies, but is more often found in everyday entertainment and work scenarios. While more and more production companies are gaining benefits with this emerging technology, there are still many companies who are hesitant. What makes companies hesitate to move forward is not only unfamiliarity with the technology, but also uncertainty about the usage scenarios. To reduce this unfamiliarity and uncertainty, this article starts with the development trend of AR&VR technology in recent years and introduces the four main application scenarios in industry, namely Training, Remote Collaboration, Assembly and Warehouse Logistics. Despite the fact that VR&AR technology has found suitable use cases, the applications still face problems such as poor battery life, poor wearing comfort and vertigo. All of these issues present challenges in industrial applications. However, with the development of high-speed networks, some of the technical are expected to be solved in the near future.
