Implementation of charging functions for an electric charging station
AN ELECTRIC CHARGING STATION BECOMES A DESIGN PROJECT AND PROVES THE COMPATIBILITY OF TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND CREATIVE DESIGN.
It is new that an electric charging station is interpreted as a design project, and yet the past project has proven its feasibility. Requiring a special design for the HMI, a designer was commissioned to create it. He created the UI including the animations, which were inserted into the software by Zielpuls as part of the project.
In addition to the software architecture, which included communication of the charging socket, backend service and UI, the procurement of special industrial PCs also became a challenge. Market analysis had to be carried out and requirements had to be collected, which the PC was capable of processing. For this, an appropriate graphics card was needed so that several monitors could be addressed.
The software development ranged from authentication via RFID cards at the charging socket, via a database interface to the HMI and back again.
Our client was Gildemeister AG (today DMG MORI).
Added value for the customer
Through Zielpuls’ commitment and close support in this project, the client received maximum all-round service. This allowed our client to demonstrate to their end-users that charging at an e-charging station can be informative, user-friendly and design-led.
